It's good to laugh....

So, I don’t know if anyone else is feeling like this but how did it go from being March to suddenly being November on Monday? The seasonal shift has definitely taken place and long Summer nights have been replaced with Autumnal nights with the smell of wood smoke filling the air. We are lucky enough here that although perhaps not what was originally planned – we have all managed to have a lovely holiday and that has given us all a much-needed rest and boost. It has been lovely seeing everyone have different adventures to their ‘norm’ and it has certainly piqued my interest to venture to some destinations that previously would not have even crossed my mind.

Workwise again we have been so lucky, we have had the opportunity to place several more candidates in contract roles and had some permanent starts as well. Although the market is challenging, the fighting spirit we see from candidates and clients alike makes our job even more fulfilling and a huge sense of achievement, especially at the moment, is felt in being able to offer candidates good news on a job well done.

We are so looking forward to seeing what the next month will bring. If nothing else, I have found that this is the chance to regroup a little and take time out to do all those things that you have had on a to-do list for months. It has certainly given me a chance to refocus and added some structure into what seems like a slightly chaotic world at present.

At BTS we love keeping positive. We have a team incentive running in the lead up to Christmas (I know, I know - I mentioned the C-word) whereby we could end up with some lovely Christmassy treats. All these things keep work fresh and fun which is something I personally think is so important, especially in the current climate. Whilst we are all focusing so much on keeping fit both mentally and physically, it is so important to just have some fun and dare I say it - laugh.

One thing I notice every day on either a work email or a work Zoom call is that at some point we all have a giggle and I cherish that so much. I would hugely encourage everyone to take time out of their busy days and just make someone else laugh. I promise you it will make someone else’s day and indeed yours - it is the best tonic in the world. I will leave you with this rather seasonally apt quote and hope you all have a lovely weekend.
