So last month’s blog ended with these words:
“Manchester has baked in temperatures topping 28 degrees, and we have enjoyed every minute. Let’s hope August is as kind so we can all enjoy our staycations and of course some more working in the sun!”
Unfortunately, this clearly wasn’t the case and we have seen a very wet and windy August, please don’t blame us for tempting fate. Having said that a few of us have had staycations over this time and I think the main thing to appreciate is having that time away with family/friends and really ‘switching off’ – it is far too easy to just keep checking your emails or making the odd call but ultimately holidays and time off is key to keeping a work/life balance and making sure those batteries get fully recharged.
We are still coming out of a trying 18 months and now more than ever, is it so important to look after yourself both mentally and physically and take time out to do whatever you enjoy most, whether that be socialising with friends, climbing up a mountain, walking or getting zen in a spa it will all be worthwhile when you start feeling more happy and more relaxed. On that note, as you know, we support Springhill Hospice, so as a fundraiser, Sarah and Claire have decided to walk up Snowden so please do feel free to support and see our Facebook and Linked In posts on how to donate. We wish them the best of luck and know they will do an amazing job – and hopefully not end up with too many blisters along the way.
On a work front we have been busier than ever, we keep waiting for this infamous ‘quiet time’ to approach and we are very thankful to say, it never does. The exciting news this month is that we are expanding our team again and are looking for a Resourcer so hopefully next month there will be more news to follow and an introduction to our latest team member – how exciting! As always, we are just so thankful to work with such amazing clients and candidates and long may that continue.
