RESEARCH ADMINISTRATOR 

Based in Rochdale, North Manchester our client is an established engineering business. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Administrator to join and support a successful and very busy Research and Development department. This is an office-based role, working Monday – Friday 8.30 – 5.00 with flexible start/finish times.

THE JOB:

Reporting to the Head of Research and Development, as Research Administrator you will be fully responsible for all the departments administrative support, which will include:

  • Liaising with the customer to prepare quotations
  • Requesting and chasing up purchase order numbers
  • Preparing invoices and chasing invoices where required
  • Supporting the logistics for bringing materials to and from the Customer Centre and arranging for customs clearance
  • Executing and administrating all the paperwork in relation to the logistics, packing and shipping for the customer
  • Managing the administration of customer visits including:
    • Arranging the logistics and administration for customer visits
    • Providing support in organising the travel plans of customers visiting the Customer Centre
    • Arranging airport pick ups
    • Arranging bookings for hotels, sales lounge (meeting room) bookings, food and restaurants, company tours, etc.

THE PERSON:

The ideal applicant will be an experienced Administrator that has previously worked in a manufacturing or engineering environment supporting an administrative function or department.  You will need to have excellent communication skills and customer service skills and the ability to build strong working relationships both internally and externally. You will be expected to work to your own initiative and at times at some pace therefore, you must be a robust character that is highly organised, able to multitask and confident at problem solving. You will need to be reactive to change and have a flexible approach to all that you do.
