Paying up to £40k + benefits – Are you an experienced Buyer looking for your next role? We are seeking an experienced Buyer to join an innovative and fast-moving manufacturing business based in North Manchester.

THE JOB

As their Buyer, you will report to the Supply Chain Manager and be responsible for sourcing and procuring the materials or products needed for production. Your role will include managing supplier relationships and ensuring that all materials meet quality standards and arrive on time.

Key responsibilities:

  • Process purchase orders, obtain supplier quotes, and negotiate pricing
  • Ensure timely delivery of products, including following up on outstanding or delayed orders
  • Set up and maintain supplier accounts, stock records, and the approved supplier list
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and manage updates to pricing or product information
  • Support delivery booking, invoice queries, monthly credit card reconciliation, and stock-take activities
  • Assist with maintaining and updating the central materials library and implementing the new stock system

THE PERSON

We’re looking for:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a buying role, ideally within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong Excel skills, experience with Sage and a high level of quality control
  • Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to secure competitive pricing and favourable terms
  • Highly organised, with a strong sense of urgency and the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Proven ability to handle multiple procurement tasks simultaneously while maintaining exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to develop and maintain long-term, reliable supplier partnerships
  • Confident decision-maker, able to act quickly and effectively during supply shortages, price changes, or urgent material requirements
  • Meticulous and detail-focused when reviewing purchase orders and other procurement documentation
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, particularly when addressing supply chain disruptions, quality concerns, or operational challenges.
