Financial Controls Manager – Permanent – Liverpool or London (Flexible and hybrid working) – Salary Negotiable + Excellent benefits

Following a recent partnership with One Housing Group, now is an exciting time to join, as the organisation is seeking to appoint a number of new key roles within finance. Embarking on integrating two finance functions the vision is to create an influential finance team that will play a vital role in ensuring the organisation delivers its’ ambitious delivery plans, whilst enhancing the lives of many. As the Financial Controls Manager, you will join a talented and committed finance team, and your role will be to support key finance stakeholders in the management and development of the financial control environment across the group.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all the processes are fully defined, properly documented and compliant with the relevant accounting standards to ensure good financial control
- Review routine finance processes and controls to ensure they are appropriate and highlight any risks
- Undertake regular testing across finance to ensure compliance and financial robustness
- Work with both financial and non-financial colleagues to ensure financial controls are applied to all key systems and processes
- Undertake a deep analysis and audit review of controls and processes across a range of financial outputs to formally identify an effective internal controls framework
- Work closely with the Finance Processing Manager and Financial Accounting Manager to ensure month end processes and procedures, such as balance sheet reconciliation and month end journals, are processed in a timely and accurate manner
- Monitor unresolved issues
- Raise awareness of the importance of strong financial controls
This will be a high profile role within the finance team and will be a key ambassador for finance.
The Person:
- It is essential you are a fully qualified accountant and would suit a first or second time mover
- Effective communication and negotiation skills are essential
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure
- Previous experience of working in a large and complex organisation
