Paying up to c£54K plus excellent benefits, South Lakes Housing is looking for a permanent Financial Reporting Manager to join their forward-thinking and ambitious team. Working as a key member of the SMT, managing a focussed and highly motivated finance team in supporting the Exec to deliver excellent value for their customers. South Lakes Housing is an independent, not for profit housing association and is the largest provider of affordable rented properties in South Lakeland.
THE ROLE
As Financial Reporting Manager, you will ensure the delivery of an operational finance function, ensuring robust financial control. Coach and mentor, the Financial Reporting Team to deliver efficient, accurate, and consistent finance service, and be accountable for the coordination and delivery of financial and management accounting services.
Key responsabilities:
- Coach and mentor, the Financial Reporting Team, leading and motivating the team to deliver efficient, accurate and consistent finance services
- Lead and co-ordinate the delivery of Finance Partnering Services to budget holders and Directors, both supporting and challenging key stakeholders
- Provide monthly management information and financial reports for the Executive Team and Board
- Lead the annual budget process, engaging budget holders and the wider Finance team and other stakeholders
- Lead and co-ordinate the financial year end including preparation of the financial statements through to external audit liaison and completion
- Responsible for accurate submission of any regulatory returns and associated financial analysis
- Be a proactive champion of continual improvement by initiating and leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the finance system
THE PERSON
- You will ideally be a qualified accountant with strong financial control and reporting skills. You will have experience of working within housing or a similar regulated industry
- An excellent communicator at all levels, you will be able to both support and challenge the stakeholders and your peers to enable the team and department to flourish and develop best practice
- You will be a natural leader and mentor to the team to enable them to develop themselves and engender a customer led culture
