Head of Group Financial Accounting & Control – Permanent – Liverpool or London (Flexible and hybrid working) – Salary Negotiable + Excellent benefits

Following a recent partnership with One Housing Group, now is an exciting time to join, as the organisation is seeking to appoint a number of new key roles within finance. Embarking on integrating two finance functions the vision is to create an influential finance team that will play a vital role in ensuring the organisation delivers its’ ambitious delivery plans, whilst enhancing the lives of many. As the Head of Group Financial Accounting & Control, you will join a talented and committed finance team, and your role will be to ensure appropriate and robust controls are in place across the group.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the production of the financial statutory and regulatory reporting
  • Lead, manage and co-ordinate the financial accounting team
  • Act as the technical accounting expert for the Group
  • Develop the financial accounting processes and procedures ensuring compliance with FRS’s, SORP and IFRS
  • Assess the implications of changes in reporting standards and ensure these are adopted
  • Develop and maintain a strong internal controls and review framework
  • Work closely with the Group Tax Manager in the management of VAT efficiency, VAT return calculation and preparation of the corporate tax return and overall tax compliance
  • Work with the CFO and FD to understand and influence business results through effective analysis and decision-making
  • Act as the lead for the external audit
  • Support the budget, quarterly forecast and business plan processes
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly cash flow reports

This will be a high profile role within the senior management team and will be a key ambassador for finance.

The Person:

  • It is essential you are a fully qualified accountant
  • A background or knowledge of social housing is strongly desirable
  • Substantial experience of managing teams
  • Previous experience of working in a large and complex organisation
