Interim Finance Business Partner role supporting Development and Communities services within a well-established housing and development organisation. This 6-month assignment offers a high-trust, stakeholder-facing remit with flexibility and the opportunity to add immediate value.This is a hands-on, relationship-driven role supporting the Development services team.
The role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you’ll act as a trusted finance partner to senior budget holders, providing clear, practical financial insight to support decision-making. The focus is on strong business partnering, robust management accounts and effective financial support across development programmes and community-based services.
Key areas include:
- Proactive finance support and challenge to budget holders
- Budgeting, forecasting and business plan input
- Monthly and quarterly management reporting with meaningful commentary
- Financial support for development activity, cashflow and grant funding
- Project appraisal, service reviews and ad-hoc financial advice
- Support for statutory accounts, regulatory returns and audit
About you
- Fully qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / CIPFA or equivalent)
- Proven experience in a finance business partnering role
- Confident engaging non-finance stakeholders at senior level
- Strong Excel and finance systems capability
- Background in housing, development, local authority or regulated environments desirable
- Able to step in quickly and add value in an interim capacity
