Interim Finance Business Partner | Hybrid/ Manchester | 3-6-Month Fixed Term Contract
A hands-on Finance Business Partner to keep the business moving. We're looking for an experienced Interim Finance Business Partner to join a well-established housing organisation during a period of change. This is a key assignment, providing stability and high-quality financial support while the permanent position is recruited. You'll become a trusted partner to operational leaders, ensuring budgets, reporting and financial controls continue to run smoothly while helping the wider finance team deliver business-critical priorities. This is far more than a month-end role. You'll be visible across the organisation, building relationships, providing commercial challenge and helping managers make informed decisions through clear financial insight.
What you'll be doing
You'll take ownership of the finance business partnering support for a customer-focused portfolio, including:
-
Partnering with operational managers and budget holders across the business
-
Preparing monthly management accounts with insightful variance analysis
-
Leading monthly budget review meetings and supporting accurate forecasting
-
Supporting the annual budgeting and business planning process
-
Producing KPI reporting and meaningful management information
-
Posting journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations
-
Supporting quarterly regulatory and tax returns
-
Assisting with statutory accounts and year-end activities
-
Responding to ad-hoc financial queries and providing practical commercial advice
-
Identifying opportunities to improve reporting, processes and financial information
About you
We're looking for someone who can quickly build credibility and add value from day one.
You'll ideally have:
-
ACCA, CIMA or ACA qualification (or be qualified by experience with relevant background)
-
Strong Finance Business Partnering experience
-
Excellent management accounting and budgeting experience
-
The confidence to challenge and influence non-finance stakeholders
-
Strong Excel and financial systems knowledge
-
Experience working within social housing or another regulated environment is essential
Why this assignment?
- This is an excellent opportunity for an interim who enjoys becoming part of the team rather than simply keeping the seat warm.
- You'll have the autonomy to support operational leaders, improve financial insight where possible and help ensure the finance function continues to deliver an excellent service throughout the interim period.
- If you're someone who enjoys rolling your sleeves up, building strong relationships and making an immediate impact, we'd love to hear from you.
