Interim Financial Accountant / Finance Manager

We are recruiting for an Interim Financial Accountant / Technical Finance Manager for this North West based  Public Sector Body. The role will be primarily responsible for the preparation of the statutory accounts and facilitating the external audit process. This can be a fully remote role if required.

Key responsibilities:

• Leading on the preparation of month-end and year-end financial reporting, ensuring that these are prepared to timetable
• Draft the annual report and accounts for any subsidiary organisations
• Manage the associated audit process
• Complete the Group annual report and account
• Balance sheet reporting and review
• Quarterly VAT preparation and submission to HMRC
• Supporting the Financial Controller wherever possible on additional regulatory returns and projects

THE PERSON

• You must have experience in Public Sector accounting, and be experienced at managing and coordinating the year-end process through to the statutory accounts preparation
• Be experienced in leading all financial year-end tasks
• Ideally you will also be familiar with non public sector accounting for commercial training entities
• The ideal would be a fully qualified accountant but a highly experienced  part-qualified or QBE accountant will equally be considered
