Ref: 1283Tuesday 7 July 2026

Competitive

Interim Senior Finance Consultant | 3–6 Month Interim Contract | Very Hybrid Working | Competitive Day Rate

Some interim roles are about keeping the lights on. This isn't one of them. We're partnering with a well-established organisation that has recently restructured its finance function and is looking for an experienced Interim Senior Finance Consultant to provide expert support during a key period of transition.

Working closely with the finance leadership team, you'll bring technical expertise, fresh perspective and hands-on support while newly created permanent roles are recruited and embedded. The assignment offers the opportunity to make a genuine impact by strengthening reporting, improving controls and leaving the finance function in an even better position for the future.

This is a role for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves as much as providing strategic and technical guidance.

The Role

You'll work across a broad range of activities, including:

  • Providing expert technical accounting advice, including recent and upcoming FRS 102 changes.
  • Supporting complex accounting treatments and financial reporting matters.
  • Reviewing management reporting and recommending improvements to reporting packs, KPIs and financial insight.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes, controls and operational efficiency.
  • Supporting governance, compliance and financial resilience.
  • Assisting with month-end, management accounts, statutory reporting and audit preparation where required.
  • Acting as a trusted adviser to senior finance colleagues throughout the assignment.

About You

We're looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) who has operated at Financial Controller, Head of Finance or Finance Director level and has a strong track record of improving finance functions.

You'll bring:

  • Excellent technical accounting knowledge, including FRS 102.
  • Significant experience of statutory reporting and external audit.
  • A practical, collaborative approach with the ability to influence at senior level.
  • Experience improving financial reporting, controls and finance processes.
  • A willingness to remain hands-on whenever needed.
  • Previous experience within the social housing sector is essential.

Why Apply?

This is an opportunity to use your experience where it really matters.

Rather than simply covering a vacancy, you'll help shape the future of the finance function by improving reporting, strengthening governance and sharing best practice gained throughout your career.

If you enjoy leaving organisations stronger than you found them, we'd love to hear from you.
