Paying to £46.5K plus a superb pension and other great benefits, we are recruiting for an experienced Service Charge Accountant for this social housing provider based in South Manchester. This role offers a wide variety of experiences not often seen in one role, as whilst it's responsible for the Service Charges, it also incorporates all-round management accounts whilst acting as a Finance Business Partner for the Repairs & Maintainance team.
THE ROLE
Reporting to the Finance Manager you will use your knowledge of Services Charges to improve the delivery within this area, and your management accounts expertise to act as a Finance Business Partner to the operations.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality financial information and advice to enable effective management control of budgets
- Preparation of financial & management accounts
- Set and monitor Service charges and associated reconciliations
- Financial modelling & project appraisal
- Support strategic decision making through sound financial information provision
- Be a proactive champion of continual development and process improvement to deliver cost benefits
THE PERSON
- You will be a fully Qualified Accountant or Part Qualified nearing qualification with experience in Service Charges (gained in either private sector or social housing)
- You will be a natural communicator and be able to work collaboratively as part of the wider management accounting/finance team
- Experience of working in a complex financial environment with advanced working knowledge of excel, and of working on integrated finance/ERP systems
