Are you an experienced or part-qualified accountant looking for a meaningful leadership role in a historic organisation? The Grand United Order of Oddfellows Friendly Society, established in 1798, is seeking an Experienced Accountant and Financial Controller, on a Part-Time basis, who can also act as the Deputy Chief Executive, to join their small and dedicated team at our Manchester Head Office. This is a rare opportunity to step into senior leadership within a long-standing mutual organisation, with future potential to succeed as Chief Executive.
About the Role:
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you’ll oversee day-to-day financial operations, support our nationwide network of lodges, and contribute to strategic governance. Responsibilities include preparing management accounts, cashflow management, budget planning, and liaising with auditors, actuaries, and investment brokers.
We’re Looking For:
- An experienced, hands-on accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or QBE)
- Strong Excel skills (Sage experience a plus)
- Detail-oriented, reliable, and self-motivated
- A confident communicator, comfortable in a traditional and collaborative setting
