Paying £50k + 50 days annual leave (including 8 bank holidays) + a Local Government pension + Parking

Based in Merseyside, my client is one of the largest education providers in the Northwest.

Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to join their team. Reporting to the Finance Director and partnering with all departments within the organisation, this is a busy, hands-on Procurement Manager role that requires an enthusiastic and highly competent procurement professional.

THE ROLE

As Procurement Manager your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the end-to-end procurement activities, applying best practice and value for money
  • Designing and implementing the procurement process, from preparing tender information to formalising contract documentation
  • Reviewing performance of the organisations service providers
  • Maintaining procurement information management systems
  • Undertaking supplier and spend analysis
  • Producing and managing the company procurement communications
  • Developing and reviewing the procurement strategy, policies and procedures
  • Identifying and supporting delivery of corporate training and procurement initiatives
  • Reviewing current procurement systems and procedures and identifying and implementing improvements
  • Ensuring compliance with legislative standards and appropriate guidance

THE PERSON

  • MCIPS qualified or working towards the final stages is essential
  • You must be able to provide a proven track record of demonstrating diverse and extensive procurement work experience within a multi-disciplinary organisation
  • Extensive practical experience of working within public procurement procedures (Public Contracts Regulations 2015) and accessing consortia frameworks is essential
  • A good knowledge of UK procurement contract laws
  • Practical experience of driving the delivery of broader procurement initiatives, such as social value, sustainability and corporate social responsibility
  • Strong commercial and business acumen with a growth mindset
  • Self-motivated and proactive with forward-thinking ability
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to confidently integrate with the wider business
  • Able to identify, manage and mitigate risks
  • Professional, personable, with a pragmatic approach
  • Excellent organisation skills with the ability to prioritise projects
