Paying £26k - £28k this property management company is recruiting for a Senior Accounts Payable Assistant for a 12-month FTC. The role offers both a hybrid and flexible working pattern and 24 days' holiday. The Role

The job's main purpose is to be responsible for a portfolio of clients, ensuring the payment of supplier accounts are met in accordance with agreed credit terms. As a senior, there will be a responsibility train and assist others and contribute to the effective running of the team. 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Help to ensure invoices received in the Office are sorted
  • Deal with exceptions, rejections and queries on IT software each day to ensure all invoices are processed quickly and efficiently
  • Liaise with Managers regarding the approval of invoices in a timely manner
  • Reconcile supplier statements and obtain copy invoices where necessary
  • Reconcile utility bills, making sure any brought forward balances are dealt with
  • Ensure all payments are made within the supplier's deadlines, thereby avoiding the disconnection of supplies and the withholding of goods and services
  • Use internal banking software to process payment runs and urgent CHAPS transfers
  • Review of all expenditure in line with the CIS scheme
  • Process Payment runs
  • Assist in training members of staff on systems and processes and to cover for staff in absence
  • Monitor and clear AP refunds including cheques and BACS
  • Check new Supplier accounts are set up correctly

The Person

This will suit someone who has significant previous Accounts Payable experience, and who is looking to join a thriving business on a 12-month FTC. You will need to be a strong communicator and have excellent written and verbal skills. You will have good planning and organisational skills and previous leadership experience would be an advantage but is by no means essential. Microsoft Office (especially Excel) skills are an absolute prerequisite.
