Senior Purchase Ledger Officer – Swinton – Hybrid - Up to £33,000 + Benefits

We are seeking to recruit to the position of Senior Purchase Ledger Officer.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a small team
- Manage the accurate and timely processing of invoices, credit notes and supplier payments in line with Financial Regulations.
- Ensure expenditure is correctly coded and resolve invoice or supplier queries.
- Monitor the Finance mailbox and obtain relevant invoice approvals.
- Complete supplier statement reconciliations and support month-end accruals.
- Review payment runs and process direct debits, expenses, credit/debit cards and petty cash.
- Maintain and verify supplier details within the Financial Management System (FMS).
- Ensure VAT recovery procedures are followed where applicable.
- Liaise with local authorities, utility providers, suppliers and internal departments to resolve queries and process authorised payments.
- Manage and support Purchase Ledger Officers, including performance, training and development.
- Reconcile purchase ledger balances and investigate outstanding items.
- Support budgeting, year-end audit, statutory accounts and wider Finance team activities.
- Maintain accurate records, process documentation and compliance with policies, training and KPIs.
