Paying up to £50k, we are recruiting an Accounts Manager to join a well-established accountancy firm based in Lancaster. The company offers a high-quality service in Bookkeeping, Accounts, Payroll, VAT returns and Tax services. This role will be permanent, and the role is hybrid with two days in the office each week and the remainder are WFH. Holidays start at 25 days, and there is a bonus scheme, alongside a subsidised gym membership and free parking. The role will offer full study support for those who require it.
THE ROLE
The role will encompass the supervision and management of Accountants and support the Head of Finance and Operations Director. The accountants are responsible for a client portfolio of approximately 150 clients. Tasks will include dealing with complex queries, preparation on annual accounts and performance management.
Key responsibilities:

Management of PSC Accountants and their performance

Provide complex tax advice

Preparation of annual accounts

Completion of self-assessment tax returns

Dealing with complaints and complex issues from clients

Preparation and dealing with HMRC audits or investigations

Monitoring and analysation of data in relation to KPI’s

Implementation of training for Accountants

Updating of CRM systems
THE PERSON
You will have extensive knowledge of working within a Finance function and will have management or supervisory experience. You will be either part or fully qualified, although QBE candidates will also be considered. You will have a proven background in accounting and managing a portfolio of clients and will be able to provide excellent varied accounting and taxation knowledge. Advanced knowledge of VAT, PAYE, shareholding and dividends would be advantageous.
