Paying up to £70k + Hybrid Working + Excellent Benefits - Based in Bury, North Manchester, our client is an established engineering business that offers a great working environment and excellent employee benefits.

Due to continued growth and success, they are looking for a highly experienced Bid Proposals Manager to join their team. The job can be fully office based or hybrid with both office and home working (3 days in the office).

The standard hours are 36.5hrs per week. Typically working 8:30am to 5:00pm Monday to Thursday and 8:30am to 1:30pm on a Friday (allowing 45 minutes each day for lunch).


Reporting to the Operations Director, as Bid Proposals Manager you will be responsible for the overall day to day management of proposals including estimating, co-ordinating the tender process, identifying areas of risk/scope and co-ordinating the preparation of a selling proposal.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing the entire bid process, from identifying opportunities to submitting final proposals
  • Facilitating workshops/planning meetings including working with key proposal contributors to establish a clear win strategy and develop storyboard content
  • Leading the creation of compelling proposals that effectively communicate the organisation’s value proposition
  • Collaborating with other business functions to generate the best outcome
  • Managing the bid team, assigning tasks, and ensuring timely contributions from all involved departments
  • Ensuring all bid documents are accurate, well-written, and professionally presented
  • Working with senior management to develop bidding strategies that align with company objectives
  • Conducting research to understand industry trends, competitor strategies, and client needs to inform bid strategies
  • Identifying potential risks in bid proposals and developing mitigation strategies
  • Coordinating with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, parent company and internal teams
  • Analysing bid outcomes, gathering feedback, and implementing improvements in bid processes and strategies


This Bid Proposals Manager job opportunity will suit a highly experienced Bids Manager that will have experience of the UK construction market, experience of proposals preparation and management along with previous experience in a similar role in construction. Ideally you will have experience in the nuclear industry and in particular Nuclear Ventilation (please note that this is not essential).

The role requires someone that is extremely customer focussed. Membership of an industry professional body is preferred and ideally you will have CSCS accreditation and working knowledge of AutoCAD, MS PowerPoint and estimating packages.
