Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Northwest – Salary c£75,000 + Benefits – Permanent 

Our client is a successful and ambitious Multi Academy Trust based in the North-West. In preparation for what will be a significant period of anticipated growth, and the continued development of school services, we require an experienced CFO to join a committed, talented, and focused leadership team.

Providing an inclusive environment where all students can excel and flourish regardless of their circumstances, the Trust is looking for a natural leader who will embody these values whilst having a proven track record of leading a small finance team.

We require an individual who will share the vision of the CEO, the Headteachers and the wider Trust Board, who can embrace a modern business-like approach, whilst contributing to the development of strategy and policies to support the Trust’s aims and objectives.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic advice to the CEO, Trust Board, and other stakeholders.
  • Manage the finance function and oversee the development and maintenance of financial systems and procedures.
  • Prepare annual financial forecasts and budgets.
  • Ensure all statutory returns to the Education Funding Skills Agency (EFSA) are fully compliant.
  • Ensure the Trust follows best practice in terms of financial governance.
  • Liaise with both internal and external auditors.
  • Prepare monthly management reports.
  • Participate in any major projects.
  • Oversee any capital build projects.
  • Lead on all finance related areas of academy conversion, ensuring they are supported, and processes are embedded.

The Person:

  • It is essential you are a fully qualified accountant.
  • Have a proven record of manging and leading finance functions.
  • Have proven experience of working with multi- discipline teams in a collaborative environment.
  • Can evidence an entrepreneurialism and innovative outlook with an ability to identify commercial opportunities to maximise income.
