Our client, based in Liverpool City Centre is looking for a Finance Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis. The role is offering £24.8k with a fantastic civil service pension scheme and excellent holidays and benefits package. The role is to work 2 days per week in the office and 3 days WFH. 

The Role:

This is a key role supporting the Finance Manager, with a lot of variety across the financial control and banking aspects of the organisation.  You will delve into tasks that range from maintaining and updating reconciliation records to accounts payable tasks and some aspects of accounts receivable. Being the backbone of the finance team you will support and assist where needed. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare information for input and input details into the accounting system
  • Maintain and update reconciliation and control records outside the accounting system as required
  • Prepare information for regular financial returns e.g. VAT returns
  • Assist with the production of weekly or ad-hoc payments, order control, income collection processes, banking processes and petty cash
  • Perform routine calculations to produce analyses and reports as requested by the Finance Director
  • Process and prepare financial and business forms for the purpose of checking account balances and facilitating purchases
  • Reconcile any discrepancies or errors identified by conversing with employees and/or clients
  • Help oversee and manage individual accounts
  • Create, send, and follow up on invoices
  • Review and adhere to department budgets

The Person:

  • You must have a good foundation of accounting experience from working in a finance team especially within Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable 
  • With an outstanding IT literacy level, you will be responsible for maintaining financial records in Excel and ensuring accuracy and any errors are corrected
  • Your communication skills are top-notch, making you an effective collaborator with people at all levels
  • You must be commutable to Liverpool city centre twice a week as a minimum and more for the initial training period
