We have a superb, new opportunity for an experienced commercial finance director to join a fast-growing SME in Manchester to help them in their next phase of growth. We are looking for an experienced finance director who will act as a trusted advisor to the senior leadership team and work closely with external stakeholders including banks & investors on fundraising activities. With exciting plans to grow both organically and by acquisition over the next 5 years, this is a great time to join the business.
The commercial finance director role is very much a hands-on role, but you will be supported by an experienced finance team. You will play a pivotal role in the senior leadership team and we are therefore looking for a candidate with a blend of technical and entrepreneurial skills to lead the business through the next growth cycle.
Responsibilities will include:
· Managing a small finance team
· Ownership and review of the month end reporting pack
· Presenting at monthly board meetings
· Working alongside the SLT to drive profitability and improve efficiency
· Develop MI and reporting for internal and external stakeholders
· Ownership of the annual planning process
· Ensuring exceptionally high standards of company governance and processes.
The person
- Hold a recognised accounting qualification
- Experience working within a finance director role within an SME or divisional role for a larger business
- Experience within distribution or manufacturing is advantageous
- Have raised funds and managed funders
- Strong leader and influencer
- Good communicator and manager - able to manage up and down the organisation
