Paying between up to £50K (DOE) plus excellent benefits, we are recruiting a Qualified Financial Accountant for this varied and diverse group of companies. This role could suit someone making their 1st or 2nd Move out of Practice (ACA or ACCA) or an experienced and Qualified Financial Accountant. The Head office is based in North Manchester/Lancashire with a 3/2 hybrid-to-office working environment.

THE JOB

Reporting to the Senior Finance Manage,  the Financial Accountants' main responsibility role will take responsibility for the co-ordination and completion of the statutory accounts, and the provision of an efficient and robust financial accounting and taxation service to the Group.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead on the completion of the annual statutory accounts for the Group, external audit of the accounts and submission to relevant bodies
  • Design and maintain finance-related policies and procedures and lead on ensuring the financial control framework is operating effectively
  • Complete and contribute to the completion of regulatory, statutory, and any statistical returns as appropriate
  • Ensuring a robust control environment, continually looking at improving processes and procedures to strengthen financial controls
  • Group consolidation and cash flow forecasting
  • Responsible for the effective administration of the tax affairs of the Group including VAT, Corporation Tax; PAYE and Transfer Pricing rules including submission of all Group VAT returns
  • Develop the Taxation strategy, policy and procedures and provide training and advice to the business to mitigate VAT and tax liabilities as far as possible
  • Ad hoc projects and other financial tasks

THE PERSON

  • You must be a fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent with a strong technical financial accounting background. You will have up to date experience and understanding of current legislation requirements and the production of statutory financial statements & regulatory returns
  • You will be having excellent financial systems skills including excel and be proactive at developing robust financial controls and procedures for the smooth operation of the financial reporting within the group.
  • A natural drive for improvement and through changes to improve financial processes and systems is essential to continue look for new and better ways of delivering the service
  • You will ideally have a knowledge of Tax & VAT, but training to develop this area will be arranged
  • As an active member of the finance team, you will have the ability to communicate complex financial concepts to finance and non-finance employees and be able to work on your own initiative using sound and professional judgement
