This Greater Manchester-based Social Housing Provider is looking for a Management Accountant to join their team on a 1-year Fixed Term Contract basis. Working in well-appointed offices, conveniently close to public transport and road networks, the finance team works on an approximate 50% hybrid basis for a 35-hour week and it comes with excellent starting holidays and other benefits.
THE JOB
Working closely with the Finance Manager, the role is a classic mix of production of monthly management accounts whilst supporting key stakeholders with an understanding of the variances in their budget.
Key responsibilities:
- Production of Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Monitor and review compliance expenditure, ensuring service charge costs are appropriately allocated
- Effectively liaise with the Transaction Team to improve systems and processes
- Prepare and present effective financial analysis
- Support Budget Holders to develop and manage a robust budget
- Monitor and review the financial performance explaining complex financial performance to non-financial colleagues
- Attend management team meetings to present financial performance information
- Work closely with HR to support the monthly payroll checking process, ensuring monthly reconciliations against budget
- To support on any value-for-money reporting and help identify and drive cost-savings
THE PERSON
- The role holder can either be a Part-Qualified Accountant (AAT, ACA, CIMA, ACCA, CIPFA) or Qualified by Experience
- Experienced at producing monthly management accounts
- A natural manner to partner and support budget holders
- A strong communicator who can build solid work relationships, and of working collaboratively
