Paying up to £28,300 + Benefits - Based in Rochdale, our client is a highly successful textile wholesale business that are seeking an experienced Merchandiser to join their fast-expanding merchandising team. This is a full-time job opportunity with a flexible start/finish time Mon-Thurs and a 3pm finish every Friday.

THE JOB

As Merchandiser you will be working as part of the team to maximise commercial opportunities by driving sales through improved availability and forecasting, reducing mark down and maximising profit.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Forecasting seasonal products and new business initiatives
  • Managing stock levels through cashflow forecasts
  • Accurately forecasting stock through sales, business trends and detailed analysis
  • Monitoring retail spend to make any necessary amendments to forecasted estimates
  • Attending regular meetings to ensure stock is on target
  • Identifying and monitoring low selling lines
  • Assisting with stocktakes
  • Placing orders with suppliers
  • Regularly consulting with suppliers and their sales agents
  • Monitoring orders from suppliers and highlighting any urgent requirements to avoid delays
  • Communicating with suppliers regarding any delays with stock and informing the customer
  • Liaising with the quality department and design team regarding any relevant analysis and trends
  • Keeping up to date with all relevant reports regarding stock, new launches, risk, turnover and profit

THE PERSON

The ideal Merchandiser will already be working in a similar role and environment. The successful applicant will need to accurately forecast and analyse financial trends, therefore advanced analytical skills/Excel skills and the ability to confidently make decisions and at times take calculated risks is essential. You must be passionate about the product and have a strong customer awareness and understanding. A methodical and organised approach is required and the ability to work to deadlines and influence others is also essential.
