Paying £24k - £26k FTE, this company is recruiting for a Part-time Finance Assistant to join their team on a temporary basis with a view to going permanent. You will support the Finance Consultant and do a full transactional Finance role, as well as some payroll. The role is 21 hours/3 days per week and offers remote and flexible working (occasional office-based days in Manchester City Centre). The role offers 38 days' holiday and would ideally be to start as soon as possible.
The Role
The job's main purpose will be to support all aspects of the Finance function whilst the Finance Consultant does the actual reporting and Management Accounts. Experience in dealing with invoices is essential and overall Finance experience is a must.
Key accountabilities:
- Accounts Payable duties include dealing with invoices
- Gathering necessary authorisation and logging the invoices onto the ledger using Quickbooks
- Generating supplier BACS payment runs and uploading them onto the banking system
- Dealing with Excel spreadsheets that list payments required to clients
- Posting via journals and performing bank uploads
- Raising and sending invoices for grant and contract income
- Posting corresponding invoices and customer receipts to the ledgers
- Payroll duties include gathering pay changes, new starters, and dealing with leavers
- Completing the HMRC and pension submissions and net pay bank payments
The Person
This will suit someone looking for part-time hours and the client is happy to offer flexible working hours around the individual’s needs and the role will be fully remote, with occasional days in the office which is in Manchester City Centre. Previous experience within Finance and invoice processing is required, ideally along with knowledge of some payroll. Excellent communication skills are required along with an analytical and methodical approach. Being able to work autonomously is also essential. This role is to start as soon as possible so the client will only consider candidates who are available immediately or on short notice.
