Paying up to £30k pro-rata - Based in Middleton, our client is an established manufacturing organisation that are seeking an experienced Purchase and Sales Ledger Assistant to join their busy finance team on a part time basis. This is a part time, office-based job opportunity working 20-25 hrs each week, Monday to Friday.

THE JOB

Reporting to the Financial Director, as Sales and Purchase Ledger Assistant you will support the Accounts Manager, to ensure all the sales and purchase ledger duties are completed in a timely, and efficient manner.

Your detailed responsibilities as Sales and Purchase Ledger Assistant will include:

  • Bank account postings and reconciliations
  • Processing and emailing sales ledger invoices 
  • Updating the sales figures and sales margin reports 
  • Monitoring incoming emails and acting on enquiries/requests
  • Uploading purchase invoices to customer portals 
  • Distributing purchase invoices in query and/or requiring manual authorisation
  • Processing new sales ledger account applications and updating changes to credit limits in Sage
  • Chasing overdue debts
  • Processing payments runs
  • The reconciliation of supplier statements
  • Month-end bank account reconciliations
  • Reporting on any accounts over agreed terms and instructing solicitors (if required)
  • Placing overdue accounts on hold

THE PERSON

The ideal Sales and Purchase Ledger Assistant will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role. Experience of using Sage 200 is essential, and manufacturing experience would be desirable. You must be able to work to tight deadlines and have good communication skills both written and verbal.
