THE COMPANY

Based in the Manchester, this not-for-profit organisation is looking for an experienced Procurement Specialist to join their procurement team on a 6-month FTC basis. Reporting to the Head of Procurement and working alongside their Procurement Officer, this is a hands-on procurement role that requires an enthusiastic and proactive team player. This Procurement Specialist job opportunity is hybrid with 3/4 days working from home and 1/2 days working in the office.

THE ROLE

As the Procurement Specialist you will manage the sourcing and establishment of new suppliers. You will strive to achieve best value for money on all goods and services that are procured by the group, whilst ensuring you remain compliant with policy and all relevant procurement contract regulations.

As Procurement Specialist your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the end-to-end procurement activities, applying best practice and value for money.
  • Designing and implementing the procurement process, from preparing tender information to formalising contract documentation.
  • Reviewing performance of the company service providers.
  • Maintaining procurement information management systems.
  • Undertaking supplier and spend analysis.
  • Ensuring compliance with legislative standards and appropriate guidance.

THE PERSON

  • The ideal applicant will be MCIPS qualified or working towards the final stages.
  • You must be able to provide a proven track record of demonstrating diverse and extensive procurement work experience within a multi-disciplinary organisation.
  • Extensive practical experience of working within public procurement procedures (Public Contracts Regulations 2015) and accessing consortia frameworks is essential.
  • Excellent understanding of submission and subsequent bid and tender applications.
  • Strong commercial and business acumen with a growth mindset.
  • Self-motivated and proactive with forward-thinking ability.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to confidently integrate with the wider business.
  • Able to identify, manage and mitigate risks.
  • A professional, personable, and pragmatic approach.
  • Excellent organisation skills with the ability to prioritise projects.
