Paying up to £32K, this community-led housing association is recruiting an experienced Senior Finance Officer / Assistant Accountant within their Rent & Service charges team. This is a Fixed Term Contract for up to 6 months to assist during a time of projects and change. The organisation works a flexible hybrid with excellent holidays (pro-rate).
THE JOB:
Reporting to the Lead Rents and Service Charge Business Partner, this role will be responsible for the monitoring of the income and expenditure, preparing quarterly forecasts, and ensuring the accuracy of the financial reporting within R&SC and associated income.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support in monitoring I&E monthly variances
- Prepare quarterly forecasts and advise any corrective action
- Ensure the completeness and accuracy of actuals against budget for all income
- Calculating and processing Direct Debit payments
- Analysis and maintenance of the systems and ledgers for Service Charges
- Monthly cash reconciliation
THE PERSON
- You will ideally be an AAT Qualified / Part Qualified Accountant with experience within Rents and/or Service charges
- You will need excellent numeracy & analysis skills, with the ability to analyse and present complex sets of numerical information.
- A thorough understanding of income and expenditure
- You will be deadline-driven and have the natural ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels
- You will need a good level of Excel and be used to working on integrated financial & accounting systems
