Paying  up to £50K plus benefits such as agile and hybrid working, a 35-hour week, perk box , pension and holidays. This Greater Manchester Housing Association is looking for a Senior Finance Business Partner to join their team and support the Finance Manager, whilst looking after the key areas of Repairs and Neighbourhoods.

THE JOB

The Senior Finance Business Partner is a key role in providing proactive support and advice to budget holders. The role links the finance team to the operational parts of the business, building strong relationships across key business areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provision of financial support and advice to the relevant business area, translating complex financial information and advice, developing a wider knowledge to understand the key drivers for income and expenditure and the organisation’s cost base
  • Preparation of annual budgets, challenging new requests or increases against efficiency plans proposed by budget holders
  • Collating and summarising overall budgets for the relevant business area for review and input into the Business Plan model
  • Hold monthly meetings with budget holders to discuss their management accounts and provide insight to enable operational decision making
  • Preparation of timely financial reporting, and contribute to the financial reports issued monthly to the SLT and quarterly to Board
  • Prepare/review quarterly Regulatory and Government returns and contribute to the production of statutory accounts, liaising with the external auditors
  • Management of the Assistant Business Partner, including appraisal, mentoring, training, and development
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of financial processes, controls, and systems to ensure continuous improvements as part of the wider finance team

THE PERSON

  • You will be a professionally qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA)
  • Strong communication skills are essential along with the natural desire to partner with non-finance teams and enable budget holders to achieve their goals
  • Customer focussed with the ability to translate and explain complex financial information in a user-friendly way
  • You must have experience in producing management accounts, budgeting and forecasting, as well as have supported in the production of the statutory accounts
  • Ideally, previous working knowledge gained within housing associations, but this is not essential
  • Strong financial IT Skills including a high level of Excel
