Senior M&A Accountant – Cheshire - £50,000 to £55,000 + Benefits and a 9 day fortnight
Our client is a highly acquisitive private equity backed business that has grown rapidly over the last 3 years, having made over 30 acquisitions. Now gearing up for further growth they require to appoint a M&A Accountant to help facilitate the integration of any new companies from a finance perspective. The role will be fast paced, requiring someone to be able to think on their feet and play an integral role in liaising with both internal and external stakeholders.
The Role:
- Establish and maintain a strong relationship with the finance function of the acquired entity from day 1 through to BAU integration, setting clear timeframes and key milestones with the team for an effective integration process.
- Prepare the preparation of the completion accounts and resultant settlement payment.
- Obtain a full understanding of the accounting software and financial processes of the acquired entity to:
- Enable a line-by-line detailed mapping of the acquired entity’s revenues, cost of sales and overheads into the chart of accounts.
- Report the financial performance of the acquired entity in line with the group’s reporting requirements from month 1 after acquisition.
- Perform variance analysis to run rate and/or other financial performance metrics determined at the due diligence phase.
- Perform month on month balance sheet analysis and reconciliations.
- Determine the cost synergies from the acquisition and ensuring these are delivered as quickly as possible.
It is essential you are fully qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) with previous experience of working through the financial integration of a business (share capital, trade and assets) acquisition. You will be a natural problem solver, with strong analytical skills and possess a positive ‘can-do’ attitude
