This Charity, and Not for Profit organisation in Liverpool is looking for a temporary Finance Assistant to join their talented and dedicated finance team. The role is 5 days per week and offers predominantly remote working, although the role is predominantly WFH you will be expected to attend an office on occasion for business-critical meetings.
This position plays a key role in supporting the Bank & Control Manager and the finance team.
Key responsibilities:
- Maintain and update reconciliation and control records outside the accounting system as required
- Prepare information for input and input details into the accounting system
- Prepare information for regular financial returns e.g. VAT returns
- Provide backup support for payroll processing
- Assist with the production of weekly or ad-hoc payments, order control, income collection processes, banking processes and petty cash
- Deal effectively with enquiries from external parties and staff relating to financial transactions
- Process and prepare financial and business forms for the purpose of checking account balances and facilitating purchases
- Perform routine calculations to produce analyses and reports as requested by the finance director
- Help oversee and manage individual accounts
- Create, send, and follow up on invoices
- Review and adhere to department budgets
- Collect and enter data for various financial spreadsheets
- Review and audit financial statements and reports, ensure all calculations and data entries are correct
- Reconcile any discrepancies or errors identified by conversing with employees and/or clients
- Collect information for and prepare payroll payments for employees
- Monitor workflow inboxes, mail and trays taking necessary action on a timely basis
The Person
- You will have experience working within a finance team and be happy to be in a finance support role
- You will have an excellent level of IT literacy and proficiency
- An effective communicator, you will be well versed in working with people at all levels inside and outside of an organisation, able to explain complex concepts easily
