Our client is looking for a Workforce Data and Payroll Officer to join their team on a permanent basis. The office is based in Manchester City Centre and the role is hybrid (3 days WFH, 2 office-based days) so all applicants must be commutable to Manchester. The role also offers 28 days holiday, a pension scheme, and an excellent benefits package. 

THE ROLE

The role is to take a prominent role in workforce planning, workforce data analysis and payroll management. You will work effectively with their third-party payroll provider ensuring payroll is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. The role is responsible for coordinating and completing on a wide variety of workforce data requests. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • To support the Workforce Planning and Payroll Manager in performing all aspects of payroll, ensuring each stage of the payroll process is properly actioned, that staff are paid correctly, and correct payments are made and appropriate information is communicated to their payroll provider, pension provider, HMRC and other statutory bodies
  • To lead in the data analysis reporting requirements and preparing KPI’s, reports and budget reporting for all People related matters including headcounts, people budgets and recruitment costs   
  • Review process mapping of all payroll procedures
  • To support in the processing of monthly payroll, liaising with the Workforce & planning manager and other key stakeholders 
  • Responsible for ensuring that the organisation remains compliant and up to date with Statutory requirements in relation to Maternity pay, Paternity leave, Child Care, Statutory Maternity and Sick pay
  • Responsible for ensuring that starters, leavers and changes to terms and conditions are processed accurately and on a timely basis
  • Supporting with processes including the allocation and classification of staff costs, BACS payroll payments and liaising with our payroll providers
  • To play a key part in the managing of payroll contract with third party supplier.
  • To keep abreast of any payroll legislative changes and ensure these are accurately implemented by our external provider
  • To support with payroll and pension queries, seeking support for complex issues and solving more simple queries
  • Responsible for gathering and interpreting data and managing Workforce database across the organisation providing accurate information and reports
  • Deliver forecasting analysis data and production of reports 

THE PERSON

We are looking for an experienced Workforce Planning and Payroll Officer who is a team player and has experience working within a HR & Payroll function. The successful candidate will pay close attention to detail and have the personal motivation to perform the role to the highest standards. You will be punctual, flexible and responsive in how you approach your work. You will ensure the successful running of Payroll & Workforce Planning function by supporting the deliverables in the HR and Finance team. You will be advanced with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and will have experience of forecasting, interpreting and analysing workforce data. You will also be able to demonstrate significant experience of providing a range of Payroll/Pension functions at both strategic and operational levels. A Payroll and/or HR qualifications would be advantageous but are by no means essential.
